Abbeville Street Park Fenced Dog Park

Abbeville Street Park Fenced Dog Park sits off Kingsway Street in Upper Mount Gravatt, a compact fully fenced off leash enclosure inside a bigger recreation reserve, open around the clock. It is one of the more convenient fenced runs on Brisbane's southside, minutes from the Logan Road strip and Westfield Garden City.

The dog setup

The enclosure splits into separate fenced sections for small and large dogs, with grassy surfaces, shade trees and seating for owners. The two gates are not always obvious from the car park side, so work out which yard is yours before unclipping. Brisbane City Council's standard rules apply: stay inside with your dog under effective control, shut the double gate behind you, leash up outside the enclosure, keep out of the playground zone, and remove any dog that turns aggressive immediately.

The vibe

Weekend mornings are busiest with the regular crowd, so a dog that prefers fewer distractions does better on a weekday mid morning. Because the dog park is one corner of a full family park, expect kids at the fort playground, basketball on the half court and bikes on the paths alongside your session.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is available directly on Kingsway Street, and buses along Logan Road and Kessels Road stop within a short walk. There are no public toilets on site, which matters for longer visits with kids in tow. Water stations are usually running but not something to rely on entirely, and the park is unlit, so plan daylight sessions and carry a portable bowl.

While you're out there

The Feathers cafe at Nathan is a few minutes away for the coffee run, and Deli Dakota covers Mount Gravatt East. For a bush leg stretch after the fenced play, the Mount Gravatt Summit Track is close by, and Mount Gravatt Motel takes pets on request for anyone staying over.
