Second Home Coffee

Second Home Coffee is a compact specialty coffee spot at 7/63 Bay Terrace, a short flat walk up from the Wynnum Esplanade, and it takes its dogs the way it takes its coffee: seriously. The room is small, so plan to sit outside.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the alfresco tables out the front along Bay Terrace, which is where you will end up anyway given the tight indoor dining room. Staff are happy to bring out a water bowl, though on a busy morning a collapsible bowl in your bag is the safe bet.

The vibe

This is a coffee-first operation rather than a sprawling brunch venue: Five Senses and Clandestino beans, rotational single origins, fresh pastries and a steady local morning trade. The team's friendliness is the other reason people keep coming back.

It opens at 6am and closes at midday, Monday through Saturday, and does not open Sundays at all, so a late-afternoon visit is not an option. Early is the rhythm here.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Bay Terrace and fills during the morning peak, so arriving before 8am helps both the parking and the table situation. It is an easy flat walk from the main Wynnum shops and the Esplanade.

Close by with the dogs

The Esplanade and the waterfront path make the natural warm-up, and the Moreton Bay Cycleway between Wynnum and Manly extends it into a proper walk. For an off-lead run first, Elanora Park Fenced Dog Park is the local fenced option.
