Mellor Park Reserve

The walk here is the perimeter path around Mellor Park Reserve in Lockleys, a tidy lawn reserve beside Torrensville. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Lead rules

The City of West Torrens signs the reserve as a dog on-lead area. Keep your dog on lead and under effective control the whole way round.

The walk

A sealed path circles the open lawns, passing the Lockleys and District War Memorial, a playground, and shaded picnic and barbecue spots.

Drinking fountains with dog bowls, bag dispensers and bins are on site. Mature trees give shade, and there are toilets and off-street parking.

Make a day of it

For off-lead play, the Torrensville Dog Park is close, and small dogs have their own space at the West Torrens small dog park.

It is a calm, well-kept spot for a routine on-lead walk rather than a big outing, and suits dogs who prefer a quiet lap.
