Torrensville Dog Park

West Torrens Dog Park sits on the River Torrens Linear Park corridor at Hayward Avenue, Torrensville, a short walk north of Brickworks Marketplace. Two fully fenced areas, one for small dogs and one for all dogs, give you a secure off-leash run without the guesswork of open parkland.

The rules. Off-leash play is only permitted inside the two fenced enclosures. The moment you step back onto the Linear Park shared path, dogs must be back on a short lead. Owners need to keep dogs under effective voice control and in sight at all times, and pick up waste immediately, bags are provided at the entrance.

What's there. Both enclosures are fully fenced with double-gate entries so dogs can't bolt onto the path while you're getting the lead off. Expect a mix of lawn and paved ground, some agility equipment, water points, and a dog wash station. Shade is patchy rather than complete, so summer visits are better earlier or later in the day.

Getting there. Walk or cycle in via the Linear Park trail between Hardys Road and Jervois Street. There's no large dedicated car park at the gate itself, most visitors park at Brickworks Marketplace, about 800 metres south, and walk in. Bus routes along Henley Beach Road and South Road are the nearest public transport.

When to go. Weekend mornings and weekday evenings around 5 to 6pm are the busiest. Early mornings or the early afternoon lull are quieter if your dog needs space. Bring a towel after rain, the ground turns to mud quickly.
