This is the small-dog side of the West Torrens Dog Park complex on the River Torrens Linear Park at Hayward Avenue, Torrensville, a fully fenced enclosure paired with a separate large-dog area next door.

The rules. Off-leash only inside the fenced enclosure. Dogs must go back on lead the second you're on the shared Linear Park path, and owners are expected to keep dogs in sight with reliable voice control. Waste bags are at the entrance, clean up straight away.

What's there. Double-gate entry so nothing slips out while leads come off, water points, and a mix of lawn and paved ground. Shade is limited, so hot afternoons aren't the best time for a long visit.

The small dog side is a good pick if your dog gets overwhelmed by bigger, boisterous types, it's calmer and there's room to potter without getting bowled over.

When to go. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quiet. Weekend mornings and the 5 to 6pm weekday rush bring the crowds, worth avoiding if your dog needs a calmer session.
