Kalinga Park

Kalinga Park stretches along Kedron Brook between Clayfield and Kalinga, with shared paths under tall native trees and a fenced off-leash area for when the lead comes off.

Leads and the off-lead area

Brisbane City Council requires dogs on a lead along the walking tracks and bikeways. The fenced off-leash area near Bertha Street has separate, double-gated spaces for large and small dogs, plus grass and some agility gear.

The walk

Paved paths and the asphalt Kedron Brook Bikeway run past open sports fields with glimpses of the brook. Unpaved tracks also follow the water, so you can pair a run in the enclosure with an on-lead creek walk.

Shade is generous, with mature trees and covered tables near the play and dog areas. Bubblers with dog-height spouts sit around the fenced area, and bins line the paths.

Getting started

Free car parks and street parking serve the Bertha Street and Kalinga Street entrances. Toilets and electric barbecues are in the main precinct.

Make a day of it

Wandering Bull Espresso in Clayfield and Odins Hollow in Wooloowin are close for a coffee.

Regular morning and after-work groups gather at the dog area, so go then if your dog loves company, or mid-morning if it prefers space.
