Collaroy Plateau Park

High on the plateau, Collaroy Plateau Park is a big council reserve built around Vic Huxley Oval. Dogs walk on lead through the day, and Northern Beaches Council allows them off lead here between 11pm and 8:30am.

Lead rules

Outside that early and late window, keep the lead on. Dogs must stay at least 10 metres from the children's playground at any hour.

The walk

Paved council paths and a grassy perimeter circle the sports fields, tennis courts and cricket nets. The site has a quiet piece of history too, as an early radio astronomy observation spot.

There are car parks at the southern end of Blandford Street and on Telopea Street, plus toilets, picnic shelters and some shade from mature trees.

Make a day of it

Grab a coffee at Drip Coffee Traders, or head down the hill for a lap of Jamieson Park.

When to go

Early risers get the off-lead window before 8:30am. Bring a bowl, as dog water is not listed.
