Bells Reach Active Playground Connection

Built for families, the Bells Reach Active Playground Connection is a paved route of about 4.2 km return in Caloundra West, linking parks, playgrounds and an outdoor gym. Dogs are welcome, on a leash the whole way.

Lead rules

Sunshine Coast Council requires dogs to be on a leash on shared pathways and in parks. Council rules also keep dogs at least 5 metres from play equipment, which matters on a route built around playgrounds.

The walk

The path is flat concrete and asphalt from start to finish, so there is no mud to worry about. It moves from the open lawns of Active Park through quiet streets to the edges of nature reserves, past a community herb garden.

Water and shade

Drinking fountains sit along the route and near the playgrounds, and bins are around Quinn Park and Active Park. Shade sails and trees cover parts of the loop, but the open parkland sections get hot.

Getting started

The trail starts at Active Park, with parking along Indigo Road. Afterwards, try the Nirimba Sports Complex Walking Path or grab a coffee at Mummy's Cafe.

Weekday mornings are quieter around the playgrounds. It suits dogs that are calm around kids and happy on a steady, paved loop.
