Baringa Forest Park Fenced Dog Park

Baringa Forest Park Fenced Dog Park is a purpose-built off-leash facility in the Aura estate on the Sunshine Coast, sitting at the end of the Baringa Forest Park car park on Toorak Place. It is fully fenced with separate enclosures for small and large dogs, ringed by native landscaping and backing onto the wider forest-themed park, which makes it one of the better-equipped neighbourhood dog parks in the region.

The rules

Off-leash status applies strictly inside the fenced enclosures; the surrounding regional park and connecting paths are on-lead. Dogs stay leashed until both gates are shut behind you, owners remain inside with their dogs, and effective voice or hand control is expected at all times. Use the correct enclosure for your dog's size rather than the convenient one, and any dog showing aggression needs to be leashed and taken out. Waste bags go in the bins provided, and picking up is compulsory rather than polite.

What's there

The setup covers the essentials well: a water tap and bowl, agility equipment for dogs that want something to do, bag dispensers and waste bins, and seating near the fence line. Shade is the one limitation, as the trees are still young and cover is patchy, so plan around the middle of the day in summer and bring extra water just in case. The wider park adds an eight-metre play structure, BBQs and picnic shelters if the kids are along.

The vibe

Weekend mornings and weekday late afternoons around 4pm to 5:30pm are the busy windows, while mid-morning on a weekday, roughly 10am to 1pm, gives you the most open space. The crowd is largely Aura locals, and the separate size enclosures keep the small-dog runs from turning into fence-line stand-offs.

Getting there

Head for Toorak Place, Baringa, where dedicated parking sits right beside the dog area at the Baringa Forest Park car park. Access is easy off Caloundra Road or via the Aura Boulevard entrance, and the estate's paved walking and cycling paths connect through if you would rather arrive on foot.

Annalise Circuit Park Fenced Dog Park at Nirimba is a short drive south if you want to vary the fenced routine.
