Rhythm Espresso

Rhythm Espresso is the community cafe at 4/1 Packer Road in Baringa, in the middle of the growing Aura estate on the Sunshine Coast. It is run by the Rhythm organisation, a community group whose cafe proceeds support its local work, and it pours for the suburb's walkers, tradies and pram crews on weekdays. Dogs are welcome at the front outdoor seating, and water bowls are set out for visiting pups.

The dog setup

The covered outdoor tables sit right at the front of the cafe, so there is plenty of air and no squeezing past furniture with a lead. Water bowls are available for dogs. It is an open-front setup rather than a fenced yard, so keep the lead short and tidy near the entry path where neighbours and other dogs pass by. Inside is for humans only.

The vibe and the menu

This is a quiet, clean little venue with a friendly crew and a short, well-made menu: reuben sandwiches, toasties and sausage rolls, plus the coffee that gives the cafe its local following. Hours are 7am to 1:30pm Monday to Friday, and it is closed on weekends, so this is a weekday-morning stop. Order ahead if you are on a school-run schedule.

Getting there and parking

Packer Road runs through the Baringa town centre, with street parking and the shopping hub's bays close by. The Aura estate is off Bells Creek Road between Caloundra and the Bruce Highway, and everything here is walkable once you arrive, which suits the dog-friendly format.

Close by with the dogs

The Baringa Forest Park fenced dog park is a short drive away and makes a good off-lead session before or after coffee. For a second coffee stop in the estate, Capo Cafe pours from the Honcho Coffee warehouse in the Aura business park with outdoor seating for dogs.
