Brighton Le Sands Walking Path

The Brighton-Le-Sands foreshore path is a flat, paved walk running along The Grand Parade beside Botany Bay, about 5 kilometres one way. It is a busy, scenic coastal route with cafes close at hand, but dogs stay on the path, not the sand.

The rules. Dogs must be leashed on all Bayside footpaths, including this one, at all times. Dogs are not permitted on the beach sand at Brighton-Le-Sands itself, only on the paved path. Keep dogs under effective control and clean up after them. Always check posted Bayside Council signage, as rules can vary by section.

What's there. Public benches are spaced along the full length of the path, with public toilets on the foreshore and outdoor exercise equipment near the promenade. Some water bubblers are near the playground areas, but bring your own water bowl to be safe.

Getting there. Access is via The Grand Parade. Paid and free parallel parking runs along The Grand Parade and side streets. Several bus routes serve The Grand Parade, and Banksia or Rockdale are the nearest train stations.

Nearby with the dogs. Several cafes along the Brighton-Le-Sands strip have dog-friendly outdoor seating. For proper off-leash time, Kyeemagh dog beach is a short trip north.

When to go. It gets busy on sunny weekends and public holidays, so aim for early morning or late afternoon, especially with a reactive dog. Good for confident walkers who are comfortable on-leash around crowds and cyclists, less suited to dogs that want a swim, since the sand itself is off-limits.
