Strangers Creek Walk

Strangers Creek gives Hills District owners an easy on-lead stroll along a green creek corridor, on paved paths the whole way. The creek path sits in Beaumont Hills near Sanctuary Drive, just over the line from Kellyville.

Lead rules

The Hills Shire Council requires dogs to be on lead in public reserves and on walking tracks, and that applies here. Off-lead play is kept to the council's separate dog parks.

The walk

Paved shared paths follow a low-lying wetland corridor with patches of remnant river-flat eucalypt forest and bridges across the creek. Birdlife is a highlight, and the smooth surface is easy going.

Water and shade

Bubblers are found along the waterside walkways, and bins sit beside the main paths. Mature trees give some shade, though sections near the water are open to the sun.

Parking is on nearby streets, depending on where you join the path.

Pair it with

Bernie Mullane Reserve is another walk close by, and Local Hive Cafe is handy for a coffee.

It suits a daily walk with a dog of any age. On summer afternoons, favour the shadier stretches away from the water.
