Yaran Suites Rockingham is a set of fully furnished short and long-stay apartments close to Rockingham Beach and the dining and shopping precincts, and it is genuinely pet-friendly - dogs stay inside the apartment with you, not in a separate area.

The pet policy. One pet per apartment. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $110 per stay for extra cleaning, plus a refundable $200 pet bond returned a few days after departure if there is no damage. Pets must be declared before check-in - an undeclared pet has the fee deducted from the standard security deposit. Confirm the current terms when you book, as policies can change.

The place. Self-contained apartments with full kitchen and laundry, air conditioning and Wi-Fi - a home-away setup rather than serviced hotel rooms. You bring your own dog bed, bowls, treats and waste bags, as pet amenities are not provided.

Location and parking. Central Rockingham, about a 45-minute drive south of Perth, minutes from the foreshore. Free on-site self-parking, with coded-door and gate entry that makes after-hours arrival easy.

Nearby with the dogs. The Rockingham Enclosed Dog Park at Bayview Reserve has fenced small and large-dog zones, Churchill Park is good for an on-leash walk, and the foreshore cafe strip has dog-friendly outdoor seating.

Before you book. Declare the dog up front, budget for the $110 fee plus $200 bond, and pack their gear - the apartment supplies none of it.
