Spill the Beans @ Palm Beach Jetty

Spill the Beans @ Palm Beach Jetty is an unfussy, old-school cafe directly opposite the jetty on The Esplanade at Rockingham, and the alfresco tables out front are where you and the dog set up. Coffee, all-day breakfast and a beach across the road is the whole pitch, and it works.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the paved outdoor seating in front of the cafe rather than inside the counter area. Staff are used to dog walkers from the foreshore, but bring your own bowl rather than counting on one being out, since the setup is casual and geared to speed rather than extras.

The vibe

Cooked-to-order breakfast and lunch, hashbrown stacks, eggs benedict and thick milkshakes come out to a mixed crowd of locals, cyclists and beach families. The draw is the position more than anything else: you are right on the water, with the jetty and Palm Beach in view. Expect a queue on warm weekend mornings.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at 16/91 Esplanade, Rockingham, about 45 minutes south of Perth. Street parking runs the length of The Esplanade with more beachfront bays near the jetty, and it fills early on weekends and summer holidays, so an earlier start pays off.

Pair it with

Walk it off on the Esplanade coastal path or head down to the sand; check the City of Rockingham signage for on-leash and off-leash zones before letting the lead go. The Cape Peron Loop Trail is a short drive south for a proper walk, and Rockingham Fenced Dog Park covers the off-lead run.
