Central Block Coffee

Central Block Coffee is a small, coffee-first spot tucked in behind the newsagent on Rockingham Beach Road, easy to miss and worth finding for what comes out of the machine. It opens early and closes around 1pm, so it is a morning stop, not an afternoon one.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, and the space is relaxed enough to wait comfortably with a dog while a takeaway is made. Staff are friendly to canine visitors, but the venue is compact, so bring your own water bowl and keep the lead tidy. Think quick sit-down or takeaway before a foreshore walk rather than a lingering brunch.

Worth knowing

The coffee is the headline: Diamantina Coffee Roasters beans, cold drip on the menu and a reputation among locals for the best cup on this stretch. Creative toasties and banana bread cover the food side. The design is minimalist and the feel is cosy and intimate, a quirky local rather than one of the big foreshore cafes. Weekend service starts at 7am, weekdays at 6am.

Getting there and parking

The address is 13a Rockingham Beach Road, about 45 minutes south of Perth, sitting behind the beachside shops with a free car park right there. Look behind the strip rather than on the beachfront itself. The Rockingham foreshore and its paved coastal path are a short stroll away, which is what makes this a natural start to a morning walk.

Close by with the dogs

Grab a cup, then walk the foreshore path with the dog on lead. Lu Lu's Cafe and Jaffelato are both dog-welcoming stops on the same strip, and the Rockingham fenced dog park is close by for a proper off-leash run.
