The Vines Resort

This is a golf-and-wine resort rather than a bush retreat: two 18-hole courses, wedding facilities, tennis courts, a spa and restaurant and bar dining on site, with kangaroos regularly seen around the fairways at dusk. The apartment layout suits dogs far better than a multi-storey hotel room, with doors opening directly to the grounds and parking close by.

Getting there and parking

The resort is on Verdelho Drive in The Vines, reached via West Swan Road or Great Northern Highway. Free parking sits close to the apartment doors, so moving a dog, crate and luggage in takes one trip.

Close by with the dogs

The Swan Valley is easy touring country with a dog. Ugly Duckling Wines on West Swan Road keeps water bowls out for pups with plenty of outdoor seating, Edgecombe Winery welcomes well-mannered dogs in its outdoor cafe areas, and the Garbin Estate Wines cellar door is another family-run stop. For a fenced run, the Little Duck Creek Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Guildford is a short drive back towards Perth.
