While you're out there

One local quirk matters: Shellharbour City Council keeps dogs off most patrolled beaches and foreshores to protect shorebirds, so the sand outside the park is not an off-leash run. The official off-leash stretch is at Bass Point on the reserve land between The Shallows Coastal Reserve and the gravel loader, and Flinders Dog Beach gives the dog a proper swim a short drive south. On wet days, Warilla Fenced Dog Park is the fully fenced fallback.
