What visitors mention
Flinders Fenced Dog Park is a large, fully fenced and gated off-leash space on Sophia Street in Flinders, NSW, within the Shellharbour City area near Shell Cove. If you want a roomy, securely enclosed paddock where your dog can run hard without you worrying about the boundary, that is exactly what this park delivers.
The rules. The entire fenced area is off-leash, so the fence line is the only boundary that matters. There is no separate small-dog section; it is one shared, mixed-use space, so keep that in mind if your dog prefers a quieter crowd. Dogs must stay under effective voice control at all times, even off-leash. Owners are required to pick up waste, and waste bags and bins are provided on-site.
What's there. The surface is mainly grass, enclosed by high perimeter fencing for safety. Seating is limited, with only a few park benches for owners, and shade is partial, provided by scattered trees. Water access may be limited or unavailable, so bring your own supply, especially on warm days. There are no public toilets on-site.
Getting there. The address is Sophia Street, Flinders NSW 2529. Access is via Sophia Street, off Brunderee Road, immediately adjacent to the Princes Motorway. Street parking is available along Sophia Street. The nearest train station is Shellharbour Junction, which is a substantial walk or a short drive away.
Watch-outs. The park sits right next to the motorway. Traffic noise is constant and can be loud, which may distress sound-sensitive dogs. Because of the proximity to the highway, always double-check that gates are closed securely behind you on entry and exit.

Make a day of it. Pair your park visit with a dog-friendly stop nearby. Grab a coffee at Leaf Cafe & Co in Shell Cove, or sit down for a meal at The Tavern at the Links. If you are visiting from out of town, NRMA Shellharbour Beachside Holiday Park offers a pet-friendly place to stay in the Shellharbour area.
When to go. Mid-week mornings or early afternoons are the quietest times. Expect the biggest crowds on weekend mornings between 8:00am and 10:00am, and on weekday evenings from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
