Warilla Fenced Dog Park

Warilla Fenced Dog Park sits on Benaud Crescent, set directly behind Warilla Pool inside the Shellharbour War Memorial Park precinct. The draw is a secure, well-kept set of fully fenced enclosures with separate zones for small dogs and large dogs, which makes it a safe pick for shy or smaller dogs, and it is open 24 hours.

The dog setup

Dogs are off-leash only inside the fenced areas; the surrounding memorial park is on-leash territory. Stick to the small-dog and large-dog separation so play stays matched, stay inside the enclosure with your dog, and keep a reliable voice recall working. Carry a spare lead, clean up straight away using the bins provided, and remove any dog showing aggression immediately. Inside the yards you will find agility extras like tunnels and ramps plus mulch areas for sniffing, undercover tables and benches for owners, a combined drinking fountain that serves dogs and humans, and bag dispensers. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Max: if the small-dog side is packed, do a warm-up lap on-leash through the memorial park first. It takes the edge off a keen dog before you go in.

Worth knowing

This is a compact park, which means you can keep an eye on your dog from almost anywhere in it, and regulars keep the grounds clean. There is little lighting, so it is best used in daylight hours. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the quietest windows and give nervous dogs more room, while weekends and late weekday afternoons get the biggest crowds.

Getting there and parking

The park is reached via Benaud Crescent within the War Memorial Park precinct, behind Warilla Pool. Parking is in the shared lot serving the pool and the memorial park, and there is plenty of it. Local buses run along Lake Entrance Road, a short walk away.

While you're out there

Warilla Beach is about a kilometre away with off-leash hours on the sand, and Windang Dog Beach is a short drive north for a dedicated stretch. For a feed afterwards, Warilla Beach Cafe and The Happy Fox are both local stops, and Lake Windemere Caravan Park sits close by for a pet-friendly stay.
