BREWED. Cafe is a small neighbourhood cafe at 3/10 George Street, Warilla, in the local shopping strip a short hop from Lake Illawarra and the beach. It opens from 6am on weekdays and dogs are welcome at the front footpath tables, which makes it a natural coffee stop folded into a walk rather than a destination in itself.

The dog setup

Dogs settle with you at the outdoor footpath seating out the front, reachable without going through the cafe. Staff get repeated mentions for being friendly to dog owners, but a water bowl is not always out, so bring your own to be safe. Keep the lead tidy: the strip gets foot traffic and the tables sit close to the path.

Worth knowing

The coffee pours Above Ground Coffee Roasters beans, and the kitchen turns out a tidy breakfast and lunch menu of bagels, sandwiches and brunch plates; the salmon bagel and the avocado dishes get named by regulars, with vegetarian options on hand. Hours run 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 1pm Saturday and 7:30am to 11am Sunday, so Sunday is strictly a breakfast window. It is still a newer, quieter venue, which suits a dog who would rather not battle a brunch crowd.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along George Street with a car park nearby, all on flat, easy ground. It is walkable from the Warilla lake foreshore if you are already following the waterfront.

The Warilla Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes away for an off-lead run with separate enclosures. For another feed, THE HAPPY FOX sits on the same street and Warilla Beach Cafe is right on the sand.
