Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, so flag your dog when you book rather than arriving with one unannounced. There is no stated size limit, and the tall fencing accommodates dogs of any size. Inside, dogs are allowed under supervision but generally stay out of the bedrooms and off the furniture, and the pool area is off limits entirely. Dogs must be treated for fleas before arrival and have current vaccinations, and they should not be left unattended for extended periods. Confirm the pet fee and any bond with the owner at booking, and bring proof of treatment and vaccination paperwork.

The house itself is a family-sized holiday rental with a granny flat attached, which suits two families travelling together or a couple hosting visitors. The beach is close enough for morning and evening walks without moving the car.

Getting there and parking

Marcoola sits on the Sunshine Coast between Mudjimba and Coolum Beach, just off the Sunshine Motorway via the David Low Way. Brisbane is about 90 minutes south and Noosa 30 minutes north. The property has off-street parking on site, and the beach access points and esplanade parkland are a short walk away.

Make a day of it

Marcoola Beach allows off-leash dogs in the morning and evening windows, and the Mudjimba Off leash beach just south is a broader off-lead run on the sand. For a secure session, the Marcoola Fenced Dog Park has an agility course, shade and water. Coffee is close: Bulli sits on the David Low Way strip, and Flawsome Cafe at Mudjimba welcomes dogs at its outdoor tables.
