Flawsome Café

Flawsome Cafe sits right on the Mudjimba Esplanade, a block of sand away from the beach, with quirky picnic-themed decor, chatty baristas and big scones that have made it the village's default breakfast room. Dogs are welcome in the undercover outdoor area, which makes it one of the most reliably dog-friendly stops on this stretch of the Sunshine Coast.

The dog setup

The outdoor seating is a planted, covered area fitted with clear blinds that block the wind and rain, so it works even on a grey Coast morning. Water is provided for dogs and staff are plainly used to having them around; keep your dog on lead and settled beside the table. This is the natural post-beach-walk table, and the honest advice is to arrive early on weekends when the esplanade crowd builds and the street parking thins out.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is well regarded well beyond the village: eggs benedict, rosti, a salmon bagel, Vietnamese vermicelli salad bowls and the avocado smash and veggie stacks that regulars keep ordering, plus taro lattes, fresh juices and sweet treats like cinnamon scrolls. Hours run 7am to 2:30pm, with the kitchen winding up around 1:30pm, and the cafe closes Wednesdays, so it is strictly a breakfast-and-lunch stop.

Getting there and parking

Find it at 2/15 Mudjimba Esplanade, Mudjimba, on the beachside strip. Street parking runs along the esplanade and surrounding streets and fills early on weekend mornings; coming on foot from the beach path is the stress-free option.

While you are out there

The Mudjimba Off leash beach is the obvious pairing, with the Mudjimba Dog Beach at Twin Waters just along the shore. For fenced play, the Marcoola Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes south. The Island Surf & Espresso is the other dog-friendly coffee option in the village.
