Marcoola House

Marcoola House is a three-bedroom holiday house on Clematis Court, about a minute's walk from the surf club beach at Marcoola on the Sunshine Coast. It is built for families travelling with dogs: a securely fenced yard with tropical gardens, and space for up to seven guests.

Dogs at Marcoola House

Cats and dogs are allowed, generally up to two dogs unless the managers approve more. The pet fee is $50 per pet, and bookings also carry an $80 booking fee plus a $300 refundable bond. There is no published size limit, and a large trampoline dog bed is provided, though you should still bring your own bowls and bedding. Confirm which rooms and areas dogs may use, and any furniture rules, when you book.

The house

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep up to seven, with an extra guest fee for parties beyond six. The kitchen is fully self-contained, and there is air conditioning and heating plus ceiling fans, free wifi, two TVs, a Playstation and a table tennis table. Outside, a solar-heated private pool and an entertaining deck look over the fenced garden, so the dog has a safe stretch of lawn while you swim or cook.

Getting there and parking

The address is 2 Clematis Court, Marcoola, in the coastal strip between Coolum Beach and Mudjimba, roughly 15 minutes north of Maroochydore. Driveway parking at the house keeps the car-to-door walk short, and the path to the sand via the surf club is flat and easy with a dog on lead.

Close by with the dogs

For proper off-leash time, the Marcoola Fenced Dog Park is a short drive away, and the Mudjimba off-leash beach just south gives a dog sand and surf. For coffee, Cuba St Coffee Roasters Cafe sits in the same coastal pocket and welcomes dogs outdoors.
