The short version. Hotel X is a design-led hotel near the Story Bridge with a rooftop pool, bar and restaurant, and a dedicated dog package called Fetch & Stay. Dogs are welcome, but only on that package and only in specific rooms, so this is one to lock in at booking rather than arrange on arrival.

The pet policy. Dogs stay under the Fetch & Stay package, which you must book together with a 1 King Standard Dog Friendly room or a 1 King Standard Balcony Dog Friendly room. There is a maximum of two dogs per room and a weight limit of 15kg per dog. Dogs must be leashed in public areas such as the lobby and outside, and cannot be left unattended for extended periods. The place. Rooms are modern with a rooftop pool, rooftop bar and restaurant, and the location is a drawcard for its closeness to the Story Bridge and the river. Note that dogs are not permitted in food and beverage areas, so the rooftop venues are people-only.

Location and nearby. You are on the edge of the Valley near the river, with the Howard Smith Wharves precinct and its riverfront walking paths within easy reach for a leg-stretch. New Farm Park is a short trip for an off-leash run.

Before you book. Book the Fetch & Stay package directly and confirm a dog-friendly room is available for your dates, the current fee, and the 15kg limit if your dog is borderline. Good for smaller dogs whose owners want a polished city stay near the river.
