Apartments on Connor is a small, well-reviewed serviced-apartment building in Fortitude Valley that takes dogs, with a catch: only small ones, and only after written approval before you book. It suits a longer, self-catered stay in the heart of Brisbane's inner north far better than a spontaneous overnight.

Dogs at the Apartments on Connor

Pets stay only in select, designated pet-friendly apartments, capped at two small dogs with a maximum of 15 kilograms each, and a one-off pet stay fee of $80 applies. The approval process runs through the building's body corporate, so you will need to send a photo of your dog, council registration records and proof of vaccination ahead of time, and get everything confirmed in writing before you pay. Dogs must be on-lead in the building's common areas and stay out of the shared pool and BBQ deck, and arriving with an unapproved pet risks bond loss plus extra fees. Start the paperwork early; a late no can derail the whole trip.

The vibe

The apartments are spacious and clean, with balconies, city views and a self-contained setup with your own kitchen, which works well for dogs that settle better away from a busy hotel corridor. Guests single out the hands-on hosts and the family feel of the place. Reception hours run 9am to 5pm on weekdays and the building is closed on weekends, another reason to have approval and arrival logistics sorted before Friday.

Getting there and parking

The building sits on Connor Street in Fortitude Valley, walkable to the Valley precinct and the river. Street and nearby commercial parking cover the car, and once you arrive you can genuinely leave it parked: walks, the river loop and the dog run are all on foot.

While you're out there

Daily exercise is easy from here. The New Farm Riverwalk gives a flat, scenic on-lead route along the river, and the Teneriffe to Howard Smith Wharves walk threads the woolstores heritage strip down to the Story Bridge. For proper off-leash time, the Victoria Park Fenced Dog Park at Spring Hill is the closest secure run, and The Woolshed in Teneriffe does a dog-friendly coffee stop.

Pepsi: Fifteen kilograms is the cut off and I made it by four. The humans did not, but that is their problem.
