Bulimba Riverside Park Fenced Dog Park

The fenced dog park inside Bulimba Riverside Park sits right on the Brisbane River at 47 Love Street, and the setting is the draw: a large, fully fenced off-leash yard on open grass with river views and the city skyline across the water. It is one of the better set-up dog parks on Brisbane's inner east, and it pairs naturally with the playground and barbecues beside it.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fenced high and sturdy, with a double-gated entry, water bubblers for the dogs, shaded spots and benches for owners, plus waste bag dispensers and bins on site. Off-lead rules apply inside the fence only; in the surrounding parkland and along the riverside walkway your dog stays on lead. Brisbane City Council's standard conditions cover the rest: stay inside with your dog, keep it under effective control with a leash on hand, clean up, and leash up if things turn unruly. Dogs in heat and unvaccinated puppies stay home, and any kids in the enclosure need an adult right beside them.

Max: Watch the energy in the yard at peak times. It fills up after work and on weekends, and not every dog handles a crowded run well.

Worth knowing

Weekday mornings are the quiet window; afternoons, evenings and weekends draw the crowd. If your dog is reactive or easily overwhelmed, aim off-peak and you will get a far better session. Outside the fence there is a river-themed children's playground, electric barbecues under shelter and public toilets, so mixed groups with kids are well served.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Love Street in Bulimba, with on-street parking nearby that tightens up on weekends. The Bulimba ferry terminal is a short walk away along the riverside path, and buses run up at Oxford Street, so arriving by ferry makes for a good car-free outing. Flat, accessible paths connect the dog yard to the jetty and the wider riverfront walk.

The riverside walkway is a solid on-lead cooldown before you head off, and Oxford Street's cafes are a stroll away with dog-friendly outdoor seating: these three things and Linda's Cafe & Restaurant are two local picks.
