Miss Midgley's is a heritage-listed former convent on James Street in New Farm, restored into self-contained apartments with the original early 1900s character intact. The setup

Ground-floor apartments open onto private courtyards, which is where the dog setup earns its keep: a gated outdoor space of your own rather than a balcony shared with the building. There is a restored pool for guests, and the apartments are self-contained, so you have a kitchen and a normal room routine for feeding and settling the dog. Fees and any deposit vary by apartment and season, so confirm at booking.

New Farm out the front door

James Street's cafes and shops are steps from the door, most with outdoor seating. New Farm Park is a short walk for open space, and the New Farm Riverwalk gives you a scenic on-leash route along the Brisbane River, with the Powerhouse Park to Newstead Gardens walk extending it further.
