Holiday Haven Currarong

Holiday Haven Currarong is a beachside caravan park on the northern shore of Jervis Bay, right by Currarong Creek and the village beach. Dogs are welcome, but this is one of the more conditional pet policies on the south coast: only specific cabins and sites take dogs, acceptance is at the manager's discretion, and peak-season blackouts apply, so the booking conversation matters as much as the park itself.

Dogs at the Holiday Haven Currarong

Dogs must be pre-booked, not turned up with. Only the designated dog-friendly cabins (Sandpiper Cabins 17 and 18) and specific powered caravan and camping sites accept pets, so ask for a dog-friendly cabin or site by name when you book. A $40 cleaning fee applies to dog-friendly cabin bookings, and you complete the Conditions of Acceptance for Dogs form as part of the process.

Dogs are not permitted during peak periods, which include the Christmas school holidays, Easter long weekends and October long weekends. Inside the park, dogs stay on a lead or tied up at all times, and the manager has final say on whether your dog is accepted. Ring ahead on 02 4429 5415 and get the pet-friendly option confirmed before you drive down, particularly in shoulder season when availability of the two pet cabins is tight.

The vibe

This is a family park in a small fishing village at the northern tip of Jervis Bay. Guest reviews rate it highly, and the drawcards are on foot: the creek, the village beach, a mini golf course, splash pad and jumping pillow inside the park. It is a quieter alternative to the Huskisson side of the bay, with Point Perpendicular lighthouse and Honeymoon Bay a short drive away.

Getting there and parking

Currarong sits at the end of the peninsula, about 40 minutes south of Nowra via Callala Bay. You park at your site or cabin, and the beach and creek are an easy walk from the park gates.

Close by with the dogs

Currarong Beach has Shoalhaven council time-window off-leash access, typically mornings and evenings, so check the signage at the beach track as seasonal rules shift. Note that dogs are prohibited in Abrahams Bosom Reserve, the nature reserve at the headland. On the drive in or out, the Huskisson to Vincentia Shared Path makes a good leashed leg-stretcher on the bay.
