Holiday Haven Huskisson Beach

Holiday Haven Huskisson Beach is absolute beachfront at 17A Beach Street, Huskisson, right on the edge of Jervis Bay. The park pairs the sand at its back fence with a pool, playgrounds and tennis courts, and it is one of the few places you can stay this close to Huskisson's main beach with a dog - subject to seasonal restrictions that matter a lot here.

Dogs at the park

Dogs are allowed in selected accommodation only, so check what is actually open to pets before booking. The rules: declare the dog at the time of booking, have the dog sighted at check-in, and complete the Conditions of Acceptance for Dogs form - entry sits at the manager's discretion. A $40 cleaning fee applies to dog-friendly cabin bookings. Inside the park, dogs stay on a physical leash at all times, are never left unattended, and you clean up after them. During peak periods and school holidays dogs are generally not permitted, so the realistic window is off-peak - confirm your dates directly with the park.

Worth knowing

Huskisson Beach itself is dog friendly on the sand in front of the park, with off-leash hours in the warmer months - early morning and evening, roughly before 8am and after 4pm - and leash rules in between. Note that Jervis Bay and Booderee national parks nearby are strictly no dogs, so keep walks on the council side of the line. The beachfront location means the surf and the Jervis Bay white sand are a short stroll with the leash on.

Getting there and parking

Huskisson is about two and a half hours from Sydney via the Princes Highway and Nowra. The park sits at the end of Beach Street close to the Huskisson town centre and the wharf, so once you arrive you can walk to cafes and the foreshore without moving the car.

Close by with the dogs

The Huskisson to Vincentia shared path is an easy leashed walk from the park. Portside Cafe is a town coffee stop. If the beachfront park is booked out or in a no-dog window, Tasman Holiday Parks Jervis Bay at Woollamia takes dogs on sites and in selected villas year-round.
