Espresso Boy Doughnuts

Espresso Boy Doughnuts sits at 66 Owen Street on Huskisson's main strip, and it lists dogs among its specialties right alongside coffee and sandwiches. It is a quick, cheerful counter stop built around fresh gourmet doughnuts, which makes it an easy mid-walk stop on a Jervis Bay day rather than a long-table brunch venue.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables out front, which face the street and make the people-watching part of the visit. The venue's own listing says dogs are allowed inside as well, but the interior is a small, busy counter space, so the footpath tables are the practical choice, especially with a larger dog. There is no dedicated community water bowl advertised, so bring your own bowl during the morning rush and ask staff to fill it.

The doughnut cabinet and the coffee

The espresso runs on a custom house blend roasted by Bear Bones, made specifically for this bar. The doughnut lineup rotates but the regulars are Biscoff, pistachio, Oreo, Caramilk, Nutella and Kinder, plus a triple choc brownie doughnut and seasonal specials like matcha. If you want something savoury, there are freshly baked pies and sausage rolls, and the cabinet carries cakes and pastries. Everything travels well, so plenty of visitors grab a box and walk it down to the water.

Getting there and parking

The shop fronts Owen Street in the middle of the strip. It opens early, from around 6:30am, and closes mid-afternoon, with hours varying a little between weekdays and weekends and across the holiday season, so check the day's times on the board or the website. Street parking along Owen Street is free but tight on summer weekends and school holidays, and there are public carparks within a short walk of the strip.

Close by with the dogs

A foreshore park sits down the street with water views and grass to settle on, and the Huskisson to Vincentia Shared Path starts from the same side of the bay for a proper walk with the dog on lead. Sandy beach sections around Jervis Bay carry seasonal on-lead rules and 24-hour restrictions in the holiday period, so read the signs at each access point. For a fenced off-lead run, Nowra Fenced Dog Park is the closest big option inland, and Clifton Park covers the Bay and Basin side. Fellow cafe stop Portside Cafe is a sit-down alternative on the same strip.
