Australind Holiday Park

Australind Holiday Park sits on Old Coast Road right by the Leschenault Estuary, about 15 minutes north of Bunbury, and it takes dogs on selected powered sites though not inside its cabins or motel-style rooms. The estuary outlook and the pub next door make it an easy base for a dog trip up the south-west coast.

Staying with a dog

Dogs are welcome on designated pet-friendly powered sites only. Tell reception you are bringing a dog when you book so they can allocate a suitable site, and expect a cash pet bond of around $50, refunded at checkout if the site is left in good order. Confirm the bond and any breed or number limits directly with the park when booking.

On site, dogs must stay on a leash of two metres or shorter whenever they are outside your van or tent, and they cannot be left unattended, even briefly. The park runs powered sites, a camp kitchen, BBQ area and laundry, with estuary views from the site rows.

Worth knowing

The park fronts Old Coast Road, so some sites hear highway noise through the day; the estuary side is the quieter pick. The foreshore walk along the water is right there for morning and evening leads, and Bunbury's beaches and dog areas are a short drive south.

Getting there and parking

The park is on Old Coast Road at Australind, just off the Forrest Highway between Perth and Bunbury. Parking is at your site, and the estuary foreshore path starts effectively at the front fence.

Close by with the dogs

Across the estuary, Watson Reserve at Eaton is a handy green space for a run, and Eaton Tavern is a casual feed nearby. Benesse covers the local coffee, and Discovery Parks - Bunbury Foreshore is the alternative dog-friendly base closer to town.
