Dogs are permitted in selected pet friendly cabins, such as the two bedroom pet friendly configurations, and on designated caravan and camping sites. There is no size cap, but pets must be approved in advance, so book directly with the park and lock in a pet allocated option rather than assuming any cabin or site qualifies. Standard cabins stay strictly pet free.

The rules once you are in: leash in all public areas of the park, no leaving your dog unattended in the accommodation, and stay out of communal indoor areas like the camp kitchen and laundry. The operator's pet friendly parks program means the process is well worn; just confirm the current cleaning terms and availability for your dates when you book.

The vibe

A family park with powered and ensuite sites, cabins, a jumping pillow and a pump track, set between the bay and the town. For dog owners the draw is the location: on lead foreshore walks start at the entrance, and Koombana Bay's dog friendly swimming stretches are close by.

Getting there and parking

Koombana Drive runs along the bay on the southern edge of central Bunbury, roughly two hours south of Perth. Parking sits at your cabin or site, and the town centre, cafes and the beach are all within walking distance, so the car can rest once you arrive.

Make a day of it with the coastal walk out to Pelican Point Beach, coffee at Dome Cafe Bunbury Koombana Bay overlooking the water, or a backup booking at Australind Holiday Park if the foreshore pet sites are taken.
