Warratina Lavender Farm

Warratina Lavender Farm is a family-run lavender farm in Wandin North, with rolling fields, a gift shop and open views across the Yarra Valley to the Dandenong Ranges. Dogs are welcome on a lead through the fields and into the gift shop, which makes it an easy add-on to a Yarra Valley day out.

Dog access and setup. Dogs are permitted on-leash throughout the outdoor lavender fields and are also allowed inside the gift shop. Keep dogs leashed at all times so other visitors are comfortable moving through the fields. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs. Water bowls are set out around the farm, but there is a tearoom on site with food for people, so bring your own treats for the dog rather than relying on the farm to have any.

Known for. The lavender fields are the main drawcard, in full bloom from December through February, and make for good photos with a dog in the frame. The gift shop sells dried lavender, oils and other lavender products, and the farm has wide, open views over the surrounding countryside.

Getting there and parking. The farm is at 105 Quayle Road, Wandin North, roughly an hour's drive from Melbourne CBD. There is on-site parking, but it is a popular stop in summer during bloom season, so arrive early to get a spot.

Nearby with the dogs. The Warburton Trail, a shared walking and cycling path, runs near Wandin North and is a solid option for stretching a dog's legs before or after the farm. Dog-friendly cafes are easier to find a short drive away in Lilydale or Warburton. Hours are typically 9am to 5pm, closed Tuesdays, but confirm current opening days on the farm's Facebook page before visiting, especially outside peak lavender season.
