Ton's Bistro at Dinah

Ton's Bistro at Dinah operates out of the Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association on Frances Bay Drive in Stuart Park, serving local seafood and pub classics with sunset views over the bay. The club formally went dog friendly, announcing that dogs are welcome on the upgraded outdoor lawn area, which makes this one of the more scenic dog-friendly dinners in Darwin.

The dog setup

The club's own rules are clear: dogs stay on the open lawn area at the rear, leashed at all times, and are not allowed inside the club or in the designated smoking areas. The lawn is uncovered, so plan around the build-up storms or the midday heat and pick an evening session instead, when the sea breeze is on and the sun drops over Frances Bay. Bring your own water bowl, and keep your dog settled at your feet since it is a shared dining lawn.

The menu and the vibe

The bistro is known for fresh Top End seafood, with chilli mud crab, fish and chips and prawns leading the list, plus Asian-influenced dishes like pho and a roll of daily specials. It is a relaxed yacht-club setting with regular live music, and the kitchen runs from midday on weekends and from 4pm Monday to Thursday.

Getting there and parking

The venue sits at 68 Frances Bay Drive, Stuart Park, a few minutes from the Darwin CBD, with free on-site parking at the yacht club. Confirm dog rules with staff on busy event nights, because the lawn sometimes hosts gigs.

Close by with the dogs

The Dinah Beach foreshore and the quiet streets of Stuart Park make an easy pre-dinner walk. For a fenced run earlier in the day, Bundilla Fenced Dog Park at Fannie Bay is a short drive.
