Yogi's Way

Yogi's Way is a Nepalese-influenced kitchen on Westralia Street in Stuart Park, a few minutes' drive from Darwin's CBD, turning out momos, slow-cooked goat curry and breads made from flour milled in-house. It is a casual, buzzy room with outdoor seating out front, and that alfresco strip is where dogs are welcome.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor seating area; the interior is for human diners. Keep your dog leashed and settled at the table. There is no confirmed on-site water bowl, so pack your own, particularly in the Build-up months when a thirsty dog needs more than a shared glass. The outdoor tables are close to the footpath, so a dog comfortable with passing foot traffic will settle best.

The food and the vibe

The drawcards are the momos, traditional Nepalese dumplings with meat and vegan fillings, and a bone-in farmer-style goat curry cooked down with herbs in an onion and tomato base. The royal butter chicken, chana masala and samosa chaat round out a menu with strong vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free coverage, plus house-baked goods from that milled organic flour. Dinner runs 5:30pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday; Friday adds an 11am lunch, weekends run 8am to 3pm with dinner also on Saturday.

The address is Shop 2/9 Westralia Street, Stuart Park. There is a small free car park on site and street parking along Westralia Street, so the walk from car to table stays short even with a dog in tow.

Bundilla Fenced Dog Park in Fannie Bay is a short drive for a proper off-leash run before dinner. Closer in, Dinah Beach Oval is Stuart Park's designated dog exercise oval under City of Darwin rules, though sport bookings can restrict it. For another dog-friendly meal nearby, Ton's Bistro at Dinah sits at the same end of the suburb.
