Bundilla Fenced Dog Park

Bundilla Fenced Dog Park sits on Atkins Drive in Fannie Bay, right alongside Bundilla Beach on Darwin's coast. It is a City of Darwin facility with separate fenced sections for large and small dogs, so a tiny dog does not have to share its off-leash time with a boisterous retriever.

The dog setup

Inside the fence, dogs run off-leash under their owner's watch; the open beach and foreshore next door stay on-leash. City of Darwin guidelines expect owners to stay inside the park, keep dogs under effective control, and leash up while moving through the gates on the way in and out. Any dog showing aggression should be leashed and taken home straight away, and the bag-it-and-bin-it rule applies at the waste stations provided.

The vibe

Both size sections have their own fencing, shaded spots and seating, with a water station that works for dogs and humans alike. The surrounding Bundilla Beach reserve adds public toilets, barbecue areas and a children's playground, which makes it an easy joint mission for families with and without dogs. The park itself is usable regardless of tide, which makes it a reliable fallback when the foreshore is underwater.

Max: the beach next door is croc country through the wet season. Check the council warning signs before anyone goes near the water's edge, and keep the fun inside the fence.

Getting there and parking

The entrance is on Atkins Drive, Fannie Bay, with parking along the street near the Bundilla Beach car park, including accessible spaces. Bus routes along East Point Road stop within a short walk.

Make a day of it

The Darwin Ski Club on the Fannie Bay foreshore is a classic sunset spot a few minutes away, and if you are visiting with the dog in tow, the Capricornia Motel is a pet-friendly base in the same suburb. For coffee and supplies before the park, Karma Cafe in Parap is on the way.
