The Fannie Bay Foreshore Coastal Path is a sealed shared path along the edge of Fannie Bay, one of Darwin's best places to walk at sunset. Dogs are welcome on lead.
The walk
It is flat concrete and bitumen, shared with bikes, with the bay and sandy stretches on one side the whole way. There is no set length, so turn back when your dog has had enough.
Lead rules
Keep dogs on lead on the path. The City of Darwin lists Fannie Bay Oval as a dog-restricted area, so do not cut across it.
Max: Darwin heat is serious. Walk at dawn or dusk and check the path surface with your hand before your dog does.
Make a day of it
For off-lead time, head to Bundilla Fenced Dog Park, then find a coffee at Laneway Coffee, Darwin.
Sunset is the classic time. Carry water in every season.
