Pink Duck

Pink Duck is a casual beach bar and bistro on the Rockingham foreshore at 59 Rockingham Beach Road, a short stroll from the sand with water views across the road. It runs the full day from 11am into the evening, Tuesday to Sunday, and it is set up so you can bring the dog along after a walk on the beachfront path.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas: the front beachside seating and the footpath tables out along Rockingham Beach Road. Inside stays people only, as you would expect at a bar. Staff are used to dogs at the tables and water bowls are usually provided, though it is worth carrying a portable bowl for busy weekend sessions when the staff are flat out. Keep your dog leashed and settled; the strip gets lively when the live music starts.

On the plate

The signature here is the hot rocks: your steak or salmon arrives raw on a super-heated volcanic stone so you cook it slice by slice at the table. Around that there is a menu of pub classics and coastal eating, including chicken parmigiana, barramundi, prawns and rump steak, plus burgers and share plates. The bar backs it up with cocktails, mocktails and a solid tap and craft beer list, and live music lands on some Friday and Sunday sessions.

Getting there and parking

The address is 59 Rockingham Beach Road, Rockingham, right on the foreshore strip. Free street parking runs along the road and there is a public car park nearby, though bays tighten up around sunset on weekends and on live-music nights. Coming off the foreshore path, you can walk straight in without touching the car.

Close by with the dogs

The foreshore path runs straight past the door for a pre-lunch or post-dinner walk, with beach and parkland alongside. For a proper off-leash run, Rockingham Fenced Dog Park is a short drive inland, and Bungaree Oval gives you open grass near the water too.
