Alice's kitchen

Alice's Kitchen is a modern Korean restaurant at 29b Dwyer Road in Oaklands Park, best known for its half-half Korean crispy chicken and hot stone bibimbap, with volcano and snowy chicken, beef rib soup and homemade chilli sauce filling out the menu. Dogs are welcome on the front patio, which makes it a solid casual dinner stop after a walk around Adelaide's southern suburbs.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed on the outdoor front patio only; the indoor dining room is humans-only. Staff have a good name with dog owners, helping set up tables and chairs and putting heaters out on cold mornings, so the patio stays usable through winter. Water bowls are not a confirmed fixture, so bring your own just in case.

Worth knowing

This is dinner territory rather than an all-day venue: service runs from 5pm Tuesday to Friday, with weekend sittings from midday, and session times have shifted between the midday and evening slots, so check before you plan dinner. It is a small, casual room, and the patio is compact, so a settled dog on a lead is the right fit.

Getting there

There is patron parking on site, with street parking on Dwyer Road as backup, though it tightens up at peak dinner times. The Oaklands railway station and the Oaklands Crossing precinct are close by if you are walking in.

Close by with the dogs

Hazelmere Road Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Glengowrie is a short drive for a run before dinner, and Sturt River Linear Park gives you a longer riverside walk when you want to make an outing of it. For the rest of the day, Strappers Cafe at Morphettville and Banks and Brown in Warradale cover coffee, and Momo Mates is the suburb's other dog-friendly eat option.
