Patritti is a working urban winery in suburban Dover Gardens, family-run since 1926, and dogs are welcome on lead in the outdoor cellar door courtyard while you taste.

Dog access. Dogs are fine in the outdoor courtyard and cellar door entry area on a short lead. Indoor tasting rooms are off limits, which is standard for a winery under food safety rules. Bring your own water bowl as one isn't guaranteed on site, and keep an eye on cleanup around other guests.

Known for. Patritti is one of the few true urban vineyards left in Australia, with vines growing right through the suburb. It's known for Shiraz and fortified styles, plus a laid-back Cellar II courtyard for outdoor tastings.

Getting there. The cellar door is at 13-23 Clacton Road, Dover Gardens. There's on-site parking, with residential street parking on Clacton Road as a backup. Access from the street to the courtyard is flat and easy.

Nearby. Oaklands Park Wetlands is a short drive away with walking trails and an on-leash dog area, a solid stop before or after the cellar door.

When to go. Weekday afternoons are quietest for a relaxed courtyard tasting with a dog underfoot. Weekends draw more foot traffic, so book ahead if you want a table. Confirm current leash rules and hours before you go, as courtyard policies can shift with events.
