Portobello Food Kitchen Bar

Portobello Food Kitchen Bar is a modern waterfront restaurant at 1-2 Tarni Court in New Port, looking straight out over the marina and the Port River northwest of Adelaide's CBD. The outdoor terrace is the water-view seat, and while the venue does not advertise a formal pet policy, waterfront terrace setups like this one often take well-behaved leashed dogs. The dog setup

The terrace is outdoor, open-air seating along the marina edge, so if dogs are taken it will be there rather than in the indoor dining room. Keep your dog on lead and beside the table, and bring your own water bowl. Because the policy is not published, treat any visit as call-ahead: ask for a terrace table and mention the dog at the same time.

The food

The kitchen runs an Italian-leaning menu of tapas, wood-fired pizza and pasta, with slow-roasted porchetta, grilled fillet and seafood for mains and tiramisu to finish. It trades Tuesday to Sunday with a lunch sitting from noon to 3pm and dinner from 6pm to 9pm; Monday is closed. Weekends are the busy window, and a table facing the water books out first.

Getting there and parking

New Port sits on the Lefevre Peninsula, reached via Victoria Road off Semaphore Road, about 25 minutes from the city. Parking around the marina precinct is on-street and in the complex bays, generally easy outside weekend dinner. The Outer Harbor train line stops at nearby stations if you would rather leave the car.
