SALTY DOG SEAFOOD AND GRILL

Salty Dog Seafood and Grill is a small counter service shop at 31 McLaren Parade in Port Adelaide, on the newer residential stretch near the wharfs. It turns out fresh fish and chips, gourmet burgers and hot dogs, with gluten-free fish batter available and pineapple fritters among the extras. Hours run Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm, closed Monday and Tuesday, though as a small independent operator it pays to confirm hours before a special trip, since they can shift seasonally.

Free street parking sits along McLaren Parade and the surrounding residential streets, and the shop is a very short walk from the Port Adelaide waterfront and its walking paths.

The wharf-side walking routes start at the door and lead toward the Hart's Mill precinct for open space to stretch legs. The Exeter Fenced Dog Park is a short drive across the bridge for a proper off lead run, and the Port Admiral Hotel in the heart of the port is the nearby dog friendly option for a longer, sit down stop.
