Asian Flavour House sits out on Marina Pier at the northern end of the Glenelg foreshore, an Asian fusion restaurant with an alfresco boardwalk terrace over the water. The waterfront outdoor seating is the dog-friendly draw, with marina and ocean views and the Coast Park trail running right past.

The dog setup. Dogs sit with you in the outdoor alfresco area on the boardwalk, not inside. The terrace is roomy and looks out over the yachts, which makes for a calm setting away from traffic. Water is available at some pier venues, but bring your own bowl to be sure.

Good to know. The menu spans Chinese, Thai and Malaysian, with Peking duck, laksa and wagyu bites among the picks. It runs lunch and dinner daily and leans to relaxed waterfront dining, popular for sunset over the marina.

Getting there. It is at Shop 6/12 Holdfast Promenade on Marina Pier. There is paid parking at the Marina Pier car park, with street parking on Adelphi Terrace and the larger Holdfast Bay beachside car parks nearby. It is also an easy walk from Jetty Road along the coastal path.

Nearby with the dog. The Coast Park trail runs north toward West Beach and south toward the Glenelg jetty, and the paved Marina Pier walk out front is a scenic pre- or post-meal stretch.

Aim for a late-afternoon or sunset table for the view, and check Holdfast Bay signage for seasonal beach dog rules. Good for a relaxed waterfront meal with the dog off the busy strip.
