Parcha Restaurant

Parcha is a Turkish-inspired cafe and restaurant at 36 Wells Street, Frankston, baking its own bread daily and turning out pide, gozleme and kebab plates, with dogs welcome at the outdoor tables. It has become a local fixture in the Wells Street strip, running daytime service Monday to Sunday with later dinners on Friday and Saturday nights.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating, which makes it a practical stop when you are walking back from the Frankston foreshore with your dog on lead. There is no dog menu or water-bowl notice published, so carry a bowl and ask staff for a top-up when you sit. Weekend mid-morning is the busiest window, and the outdoor tables are limited, so a weekday visit is easier with a dog in tow.

The menu and the vibe

Everything runs off the daily-baked bread. The pide list gets the attention, including a loaded chicken and lamb HSP pide with cheese, chilli mayo and garlic yoghurt, alongside gozleme, mixed kebab plates with rice and salads, and baklava to finish. Portions run large and the vegetarian and vegan selection is broad. Hours are 8am to 2:30pm Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, and 8am to 8:30pm Friday and Saturday; the kitchen closes Tuesday.

Getting there and parking

Wells Street is one block off the Nepean Highway in central Frankston, an easy walk from Frankston station. Street parking nearby is metered on weekdays. For an off-lead run before lunch, Ballam Park has the suburb's fenced agility area, and the year-round off-lead sand at Keast Park in Seaford is a short drive north.
