GANG GANG Eden Hills

GANG GANG Eden Hills is a casual burgers-and-bagels spot at Unit 2, 276 Shepherds Hill Road, run by the team behind the GANG GANG food truck, and it has quickly become the Adelaide foothills' neighbourhood argument for a proper smash burger. The kitchen runs Tuesday to Sunday with lunch from the morning and dinner sittings from 5pm on most nights, closing Mondays. For dog owners the drawcard is the outdoor seating out front, where water bowls are set out for visiting dogs.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, where bowls of water are kept available. The interior is compact and takeaway-focused, so the outside tables are where you and the dog settle. Keep in mind the shop fronts Shepherds Hill Road with traffic passing close by, so a short leash and a dog that will sit while you order are worth having. There is on-site parking with direct access from the road.

The vibe

The menu is short and confident: handmade burgers, breakfast bagels and strong in-house blend coffee. The Comeback Chicken with buttermilk-crisped chicken and comeback sauce, the Spice Girl with wasabi mayo and pickled ginger, and the Gods Plan cheeseburger anchor the list, with vegan and gluten-free options available and cookies at the register. Service is quick and geared to walkers and cyclists passing through the foothills, and CityMag flagged the opening as one of the south hills' more anticipated in 2024.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits on Shepherds Hill Road at Eden Hills, between the Blackwood end of the strip and the foothills, about twenty minutes drive south of the Adelaide CBD. Free parking is on site, and Eden Hills station is close enough to walk the dog in from the train.

Close by with the dogs

Burn off the burger on the trails nearby: the Sturt River Linear Park walk runs through Coromandel Valley just to the south, and the Little Leaf & Bean Cafe in Blackwood covers dog-friendly coffee a few minutes away. For a restaurant dinner in the same strip, Lenox Avenue Blackwood also takes dogs outdoors.
