CC Hood Reserve BBQ

CC Hood Reserve is a well-equipped suburban park on Booth Avenue in Panorama, south of the Adelaide CBD, with fully fenced dog park areas split into separate sections for large and small dogs, plus timed off-leash access across the wider reserve. Few suburban parks pair a proper fenced dog run with BBQ facilities, toilets and a pump track in the one reserve.

The dog setup

Inside the fenced dog park, dogs can run off-leash at any time, with double-gated entry, agility play equipment and around 1.5 metre fencing. In the unfenced parts of the reserve, off-leash hours run 7am to 9am and 5pm to 8pm from April to October, and 7am to 9am and 6.30pm to 9.30pm from November to March. Outside those windows, dogs stay leashed, and within 10 metres of the playground and fitness equipment the leash goes on regardless of the time. Bins and bag dispensers are provided.

Worth knowing

The wider reserve carries a paved BBQ area with picnic tables, public toilets open 7am to 7pm daily, a junior pump track, a three-on-three basketball court and sealed shared-use paths, so it works for a family outing with the dog included. Shelters and bench seating sit around the dog areas, and water is available for thirsty dogs after a run.

Max: check the off-leash time windows before you head to the unfenced part of the reserve. Miss them and it is leash-on, even if the park looks empty.

Getting there and parking

The reserve is reached via Unley Road or Goodwood Road from the city, with street parking along Booth Avenue and parking bays near the reserve. Local bus routes along Goodwood Road drop you within walking distance.
