Stoked Woodfired Pizza runs out of the shopping complex at Shop 3c, 27-31 Currumbin Creek Road in Currumbin Waters, and it is an easy evening answer to the question of what to do with the dog at dinner time. It trades late afternoons only, from 4pm, closed Mondays, and the undercover patio out the front takes dogs, so a proper wood-fired pizza night does not mean leaving anyone at home.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the undercover outdoor seating out the front. Overhead cover and umbrellas give shade in summer and shelter when the Gold Coast weather turns, so the patio works across most conditions. The venue itself is compact, which makes the outdoor tables the spot to aim for with a dog. Staff are generally accommodating, but bring your own water bowl, as one is not always set out for visiting dogs.

The vibe

The pizzas are the point. The dough comes out of the wood fire light and crisp, and the list runs well past the classics: the duck pizza with pumpkin, truffle oil and sage, the Verdura loaded with eggplant, mushroom and olives, and a Spanish number with chorizo and feta all pull regular orders. Dedicated gluten-free bases hold up in the oven rather than going soggy, and Carolina chicken wings are the side of choice. Given the gluten-free prep happens in a shared kitchen, coeliacs should call ahead on cross-contamination.

The complex sits on Currumbin Creek Road in Currumbin Waters, with a dedicated car park directly out the front, so parking is straightforward even at the dinner rush.

Make an evening of it

Earn the pizza first: the Currumbin Creek path makes a solid pre-dinner walk, and Palm Beach Dog Off Leash Beach is a short drive north for a swim off lead. For coffee the next morning, Bancroft Roasters is in the same suburb.
