Black Bunny Cafe and Bar

Black Bunny Cafe and Bar is the family-owned, licensed cafe and restaurant at 59 Perwillowen Road, Burnside, a few minutes out of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast hinterland side. It runs breakfast, brunch and lunch with coffee, beer and wine, seven days a week except Tuesdays, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining area, which makes it one of the more relaxed dog-friendly meals in the Nambour district.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, and the venue keeps a large backyard alongside the dining space with a children's area, books and games, so there is room to spread out. Dogs stay on lead and under control, with water bowls provided. It is a family-focused spot, so it suits a dog that is settled around kids and other tables rather than a reactive one. If you want a proper run before or after lunch, Nambour's off-leash parks are close by.

Pepsi: Food and coffee always delicious, staff are wonderful, and there is an outside area that is dog and child friendly. We lingered far longer than planned.

This is a casual, family-run room with a relaxed pace: breakfast and brunch in the morning, coffee through the day, and a licensed lunch with beer and wine. The backyard setup, with books and games for kids, makes it as much a family outing as a cafe stop, and the outdoor tables are the natural home for diners with dogs.

The address is 59 Perwillowen Road, Burnside, an easy drive from Nambour town centre. Opening hours run 7am to 5pm on Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, with Tuesday closed. Parking is on site, so no need to factor in a walk from street parking with a dog on lead.
