Dog Agility park

This is the fenced dog park set along Petrie Creek near the end of Petrie Park Road in Nambour, with agility equipment for dogs to work through. The draw is a secured perimeter, so it suits recall training and dogs that do better inside a fence.

The rules. The fenced area is off-leash at all times. Dogs still need to be under effective voice control, and owners must pick up after them, with bins provided. If your dog is using the agility equipment, keep an eye on them so they take it safely.

What's there. Secured perimeter fencing, agility gear, shaded benches and picnic tables for owners, natural shade for dogs to rest, and rubbish bins on-site.

Getting there. Access is off Petrie Park Road, with parking near the park. It is close to central Nambour, a short walk or quick drive from the train station.

Watch-outs. Being creek-side, expect water dragons and the odd snake in warmer months, so keep dogs away from the banks.

When to go. It is busiest on Sunday mornings and midweek afternoons. For more space, especially with a shy or in-training dog, a weekday morning or Friday afternoon is quieter.
