Post Coffee House

Post Coffee House is a relaxed garden cafe on the edge of Nambour in Burnside, and it is one of the more genuinely dog-friendly spots on the Sunshine Coast hinterland fringe: dogs are welcome throughout the outdoor garden area, with water bowls and lead hooks already set up so you can actually sit down and relax.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the spacious outdoor garden seating, not indoors. The garden has hooks to secure leads at your table and water bowls are provided, which puts it a step ahead of most footpath-only setups. Staff have been known to bring out a small treat for dogs, roughly a couple of dollars if charged at all, though menus change so confirm on the day. With tables spaced through a garden rather than along a footpath, there is room for a dog to settle without traffic or passers-by at nose height.

The menu and the vibe

The cafe pours Dancing Bean coffee and runs a solid breakfast and lunch menu with gluten-free options, served in a casual, rustic space with a small gift shop corner and tables dressed with succulents. Hours run 5:30am to 2:30pm on weekdays and 6:30am to midday Saturday, closed Sunday.

Getting there and nearby

It is at 1 Windsor Road, Burnside, with free on-site parking right at the cafe, so no street-parking hunt. Petrie Creek Parklands is a short drive away for a walk after coffee, and the Petrie Park Dog Off Leash Area plus the Nambour Dog Agility Park cover a proper run or some training before breakfast. If you are back for a second stop, Black Bunny Cafe and Bar is in the same suburb.
